project description:

A series of paintings based on various techniques of sequencing DNA (Deoxyribonucleic acid). The paintings are in the form of gels (blue lines), micro-arrays (a grid of coloured dot) and automated sequences (which appear as bands of either black and white or four colours). Colour plays a vital role in reading or charting the scientific image and shares a different if corresponding relationship to painting

Some of the works belonging to this series have been exhibited in 'Intersections of Art & Science' Ivan Dougherty Gallery and ' Nervous' Chrissie Cottier Gallery and 'One metre X One metre' Boutwell Draper Gallery in 2001
