Lynette Wallworth

Lynette Wallworth was born in Sydney and currently lives and works in Adelaide. She has worked in photography, short film, installation and performance. Her photographic installations have frequently utilised medical imagery and lens-based viewing devices. A New Media Arts Partnership grant enabled her to investigate visual technologies, including scanning electron microscopy at James Cook University; astronomical photography at the Anglo Australian Observatory; and underwater macro filming techniques utilising medical imaging technologies. She was a principal in the development of Big New Sites, produced by The Performance Space in Sydney. A short film for SBS Eat Carpet, Still Moving Series, Nocturne 1 looked at light pollution and the loss of darkness in urban spaces. The first part of her current video installation Hold, for the Australian Centre for the Moving Image, was exhibited at the Art Gallery of New South Wales in Space Odesseys: Sensation and Immersion, 2001. Lynette is currently artist-in-residence for the 2002 Adelaide Festival and is a member of the Festival??rtistic Directorate. She has been consulting with the Maralinga Tjarutja, Oak Valley community about a partnership work with the 2002 Adelaide Festival.
